Dentures in Edmond
Restore Your Quality of Life
If you are missing most or all of your teeth, Dr. Nguyen offers several denture options to meet your needs. Dr. Nguyen’s prosthodontic training includes the creation of comfortable and aesthetic dentures. She understands the anatomy of the mouth and the steps needed to make dentures that look great and will remain stable.
Types of Dentures We Offer:
Understanding Your Options
Dr. Nguyen creates beautiful dental prosthetics (artificial teeth). When planning your dentures, she will take impressions of your gums and any surrounding teeth. She will then send the impressions to our lab where, using premium materials and great attention to detail, our lab technician will craft a denture that looks just like your natural teeth.
Full Dentures
Full, traditional dentures are removable and replace an entire arch of teeth. The upper denture usually has a fake palate, which is necessary for structural support and to help keep the denture in place. We provide detailed custom dentures that are well-fitting and have individually characterized teeth that look very lifelike.
Partial Dentures
Like traditional full dentures, partials are removable. These restorations will replace several consecutive missing teeth. They also consist of a plastic or metal base. Small clasps connect the partial denture to nearby teeth.
Implant-Supported Dentures
We can craft a denture for you that is supported by implants. Implant-supported dentures are stable, provide increased chewing power and help prevent bone loss in the jaw.
We offer both full and partial implant-supported dentures, as well as removable and permanently fixed-in options, including New Teeth in One Day.
Removable Snap-In Dentures
If you need a full-arch of teeth replaced, or wear dentures and are tired of them coming loose, not fitting right or having to use messy adhesive to keep them in, snap-in implant-supported dentures are a great option. With snap-in dentures, you can snap your dentures securely into place and easily remove them for cleaning.
Snap-in dentures don’t move around while eating or speaking, so you won’t have to worry about them falling out or causing embarrassment. Furthermore, the upper snap-in denture doesn’t require a false palate for stability, so you’ll be able to taste your food better and speak more clearly.
Depending on your needs and situation, Dr. Nguyen may place as few as two implants on the lower arch. Upper arches always take a minimum of four implants to ensure the needed stability.
If you already have a set of traditional dentures you like, Dr. Nguyen can usually stabilize them by adding attachments which allow them to snap onto implants.
Which Type of Denture Is Right for You?
- The type of denture you select will depend on your cosmetic preferences, oral health, budget and the number of teeth you have missing. Dr. Nguyen will explain your options and help you make an informed decision.
- Although implant-supported dentures are more expensive than traditional dentures, they can be a far better investment in the long run. They will never shift out of place as you speak or eat, and dental implants are the only solution that can prevent the bone atrophy that follows tooth loss.
- Traditional dentures often require adjustments as the jaw changes shape, while implant-supported dentures rarely require any refinement.
- Dr. Nguyen can discuss your goals and budget to determine which denture option is best for you.
